Transorient Among Turkey’s “Best Managed Companies”

The winners of the 2019 Best Managed Companies program, organized by Deloitte Private in 20 countries and held for the first time in Turkey last year, have been announced. The companies that applied to the program were meticulously evaluated by a jury led by Ümit Boyner, and 15 companies were deemed worthy of an award. Transorient, operating in the logistics sector, earned the title of one of Turkey’s “Best Managed Companies.”

The awarded companies, recognized for their excellent management practices, received their prizes during a gala night held on November 11 at the Shangri-La Hotel in Istanbul.

The program was supported by the Institute of Internal Auditing Turkey (TİDE), the Turkish Enterprise and Business Confederation (TÜRKONFED), and the Corporate Governance Association of Turkey (TKYD) as partners.

The jury evaluating the candidate companies included notable members such as Ümit Boyner (Chair), Ali Sabancı, Batu Aksoy, Ebru Özdemir, Hamdi Akın, M. Buğra Koyuncu, Orhan Turan, Umran İnan, and Zeynep Bodur Okyay. The evaluation process analyzed 37 companies under four main categories: strategy, capability and innovation, culture and commitment, and governance and financials, with 15 of them being awarded the title of “Best Managed Companies.”

Operating since 1961, Transorient received its award from Ali Çiçekli, Deloitte Private Turkey Leader, on behalf of Managing Partners Nil Tunaşar and Can Pakyürek. In his speech, Can Pakyürek stated:
“Thirty years ago, we proudly took over our company, shaping it according to our dreams and bringing it to where it is today. The prestigious award we receive today is the best indicator that we have made the right decisions. I would like to thank my partner, my family, Transorient employees, friends, competitors, Deloitte, and the jury members who deemed us worthy of this award. Our goal is to continue creating value in the logistics sector through innovative and specialized services, and to carry our company into the next century.”
